I managed to drive over something concrete with dh and DC in car this morning
now it appears car is leaking something

dh has taken car to his df so they can take a look

car was bought with joint money but he is main driver
I'm getting my new car on Monday so have no car at moment

I feel very guilty as its my fault, would you pay to get it fixed or use joint money? I have no idea what it will cost

would it be wrong to still go out tomorrow on a long arranged trip even though its an hour drive away because I want to see my friends and this is the yearly meet up?

doesn't matter
we are not going tomorrow now, car needs garage urgently

I'm gutted but know its all my fault

Can you get the train?

superbagpuss · 21/06/2013 21:14

dh doesn't like trains and this late it will cost an arm and a leg for the four of us

and car repairs are one expense we can do without right now

Aww 'twas an accident, don't beat yourself up. I would use joint money, because all our money is joint.

These things happen, you didn't plan it you weren't being reckless. Could you hire a car tomorrow to get to meet up?

lljkk · 21/06/2013 21:17

I would kill DH if he did that to my car

No, actually, what's the point of marriage if money isn't joint? And accidents happen. He will commit his own right royal Cock up sometime soon, too.

thanks for your kind words

lovely mil may lend us her car but we still need to get ours fixed as its main transport for DC , I'm guessing that's the priority tomorrow now
