How to stop group updates appearing on news feed?

I belong to several groups, most of which are small and or quiet, so when messages posted in the group appear on my newsfeed it's no big deal.

However, I also belong to a huge local selling group (3000+ members) and suddenly my newsfeed is being totally clogged up with group postings. Is this some new fb thing that's out of our control?

Please tell me I can do something about it (other than leaving the group!)

Go to the group page.
Find the "Friends" button (somewhere on the right just below the cover photo).
Hover over the button and you should see a list of options.
Uncheck the "Show in News Feed" option.

Thanks pip. Do you mean the notification settings? I've tried restricting that to friends only which hasn't made any difference. I can't find any 'friends' button or reference to 'show in news feed'
