Will I get turned down for housing association as I'm bankrupt

I'm hoping to get housing association property but I'm worried I will get turned down as I was made bankrupt 9 years ago. Can anyone advise please?

I'm pretty sure bankruptcy only lasts 6 years max and is usually discharged earlier so it shouldn't affect you anymore
