how to write photo instructions with arrows, circles etc?

For example, I want to show the reader on a photo where to insert the hook when crocheting. I have seen people using some photo editing programmes where it is possible to add an arrow pointing at the right stitch or circle it.
I am going to use a tablet for creating my blog which is very uncomfortable but we have only one laptop which is always with my DH because of work.

I think you want Picmonkey . It's very easy to use, I used it here to point arrows at John Barrowman's head.

I could not find how to add an arrow but I think there are some appli ations on googleplay which have this function. I also have a problem with the green colour. It looks more grey than green. I hope to find photo editor which would enable me to enhance the colour.

Ok here's how to add an arrow - upload your image to Picmonkey. The photo editor will then automatically open and you can do things like crop or resize the image if you want to.

On the far left hand side of the screen you'll see a column of symbols. Click on the one that looks like a heart, speech bubble and star (underneath the 'P'). This will get you into the Overlays section and the arrows are in there - column will appear with all the different Overlays and you just click on the arrows to choose the one you want, then position it where you want it to go on the screen.

Dear Joanne, thank you for the instructions! I have just tried to add an arrow and it works. Really pleased. This means I do not have to look for applications on googleplay which is a relief .

If everything you want is adding circles around something, arrows and resize - you could do it with Paint. And if you have Msft Office, you could use its photo editor to adjust brightness/contrast together or for mid/bright/dark tones. The later doesn't resize well. The former - somehow decrease the size of the file, but you wouldn't notice it at glance.
