Was it reduced?

PhyllisDoris · 03/02/2013 19:07

For the cost of a loaf of bread? No, I'd eat it

MirandaWest · 03/02/2013 19:07

If it was best before yesterday and he bought it yesterday I don't see the problem. I use bread beyond its best before date.

ShoeJunkie · 03/02/2013 19:08

If it hasn't gone mouldy I'd just eat it - or put it in the freezer if you don't think it will get used up in the next couple of days.

I had this issue with Sainsbury's. I went late night shopping, and next day discovered the BBD was the previous day. They said they were within their rights to sell it until the day after the BBD.

I'd eat it.

WowOoo · 03/02/2013 19:10

No - it was bb yesterday.

I'd tell Dh to check and buy freshest there is in future.

It'll be fine to eat - they usually have enough preservatives in them to be OK for days. If not pop it in the freezer. It'll be fine for toast.

I don't really look at dates now. I just wait until I see mould.

city1984 · 03/02/2013 19:15

It wasn't reduced. So maybe eat some and freeze some. Yes sains are the worst for that. My elderly partially sighted mum used to get caught out all the time at sains. Loaf cost £1.60 so not cheap.
