18th birthday gift for a boy?

Hello, I'm new here!
I need to give a gift to a godson for his 18th birthday. Do you think it would be best to send money, say £100, which he can spend as he wishes? His main interests are rock music but he doesn't have any hobbies as such for which you could buy an obvious gift. Bit stuck really...

He would appreciate money

It might be worth asking him if he wants 'anything in particular', just to give him the opportunity to suggest something - he may have something in mind! But if not definitely don't be afraid to give him cash, I'm sure it would be very well appreciated, teenage boys are notoriously difficult to buy for!

Money would go down very, very well.

Does he have an iPod or mp3? iTunes vouchers? I would say hmm but he wouldn't be able to use them as they are in administration.
Alcohol and 18 year olds always tends to be a good choice.
Those "experience" zorbing, kayaking, paintballing with friends.

It would be lovely to buy him a watch but you may not want to choose one for him.

Would there be a way to buy him tickets for his favourite band?
