Today I parked outside my house and I was getting my 2 year old DS out of the car (roadside). Our road is pretty wide and it's possible for a car to have its door open and still drive past safely.
I'm 6 months pregnant and was struggling getting DS' arms out of the seat straps when a car drove past very fast and clipped my door, sending me sprawling over DS.
Luckily I was unhurt apart from a small cut on my hand and the unborn baby seems fine as luckily my stomach mainly fell into a gap. A very kind man passing with his kids saw the whole thing and gave me his name and phone number as a witness and passed on the licence number.
So - should I report it? I want to, but I was obviously parking outside my house and I live in an area that's quite rough. We've had people send us false vehicle documents to our address and turn up threatening us, for example. Since this person drove past, knocked over a woman getting a child out of a car, I feel like they may be the type of person who you wouldn't want to mess with. A teenage boy on our street got stabbed for "dissing the wrong people". (It's actually a nice area with lovely people mainly, just some horrible bits here and there.)
WWYD - I'm being a wimp because I'm a bit shaken. DH wants to report the driver to the police. Which of us is right? (Well him, obviously, but would you do it?)
