Does Facebook no longer send out e-mails to notify you of posts and replies?

I used to get an e-mail everytime anyone replied to a post I had replied to/ liked my comment/any of my friends posted/anyone posted on my page. Now I get nothing and find it hard to keep tabs.

Someone I know has been ill in hospital and is posting all over Facebook, not necessarily on the threads you would expect her to post on (she is still in severe pain and probably not able to concentrate fully). The updates at the top of Facebook don't seem terribly reliable, but I can't seem to change my settings to get notifications.

Can anyone help pls?

go to the little arrow at the top right of the screen next to where it says 'home' and then click on account settings, notifications and then you can set what you get emails about
