Would u buy the same amount of presents for a step child who doesn't live with you .. Compared to the child you have at home ? I'm just curious would other people do or think about it ?

I have one DSD who doesn't live with us, DH and I have no children of our own yet but if/when we do, both children will get equal amounts. Why shouldn't they? They will both be my DHs children.

What about the amount spent vs how many toys do you set a limit or get the same amount for both

DSS gets exactly the same as DD and DS spent on him. I guess your asking as they appear to have double the presents if they are split between two families? I see that as just the way it is, but we have to co-ordinate with DSSs DM to make sure we dont both get the same!

Yes, of course you should.
Why wouldn't you?

WakeyCakey · 28/11/2012 21:10

Yes of course! No need to make them feel less loved

There is a big age gap with ours, dds 9 and 6 and DSS is 17.

This is his first Christmas with us (that's a whole other thread) i have today brought him a sack with his name on as our dds have them.

He will also get a Christmas Eve hamper with new pj's ect.

He won't have the same amount of presents as ours dds but will have just as must money spent on him, if not more, a cinema gift card, ticket master gift ect

I have decided that i will put all his presents in big boxes to make it look better though Grin

Oh yes of course. I was a teenager when I got a new SM with younger children - it used to really upset dsis and I when they got a mountain of thoughtfully chosen stuff, and we got a jumper each or something.
