Party Etiquette

Hi

Just after some advice...

Son has been invited to a 4th Birthday Party at a Ball Park. The friend is someone from pre-school, I don't personally the mum or child.

So my question is, when dropping son off at the party, do I leave him in their care (and pick him up afterwards) or do I linger in the background Wink.

Many Thanks

I'd linger, 4yo is still quite young to leave IMO and the parents of the birthday child will be busy sorting other things. If every parent left their child they would have too many to watch.

Think of it the other way round... If it was your ds's party would you want all the parents to drop their kids off for you to mind?

I would linger for preschool kids.

I'd stay in those circumstances

I tend to go and see the lie of the land: what others are doing; how organised it looks; and then ask the parent what they prefer.

I would leave my dcs at a house party, but generally stay at a soft play type one as I worry about dc getting hurt/stuck and no/one noticing

Thank you all for the feedback, will linger (in the background) and let him get on with it!!
