Why does wordpress share to fbook/twitter every time i update?

I'm just going through my old blog posts and doing some tidying up (putting in embedded links, regulating a few style issues etc...), but every time I save changes it shares to fbook/twitter. Can I switch it off? For some posts, I can uncheck the individual boxes under the "publicize" option, but sometime the check boxes are greyed out. Any idea why??

Hi. I think your publicize function is switched on. This link tells you how to switch if on, so just undo these settings: en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/
