About a friend who just won't leave me the f*** alone!

I'm starting to get really annoyed at my friend, he comes up every fortnight to visit and help me with food shopping etc. It's nice to see him, but he stayed over last night, and his presence is starting to bug me. He's taking up loads of space with his laptop, so I can't run the hoover round before another friend comes to visit. When I asked him when he was leaving he said whenever his mum was coming to pick him up, he then called her and arranged to be picked up at 8 instead of 10. Which is great, except I'd prefer him to go earlier, like maybe leaving now. When I said so (not being one to skirt an issue) he complained about getting the bus home, so I just gave up.

He's twenty-fucking-two. I just want him to leave so I can clean up and get DS fed and in bed before my other friend gets here.

ARGH!

Why is it every fortnight?

Is this by mutual arrangement ? He helps you with your shopping do assume at some point you were grateful for his help

This situation didn't just arrive

Yes, it's an arrangement we've had since DS was tiny. I don't generally have a problem with him being here, it's just today when I have a ton of stuff to do. I am grateful for his help, but then I do buy him lunch every time he comes up.

Just starting to feel like he uses my house to get away from his family. Which would be fine if I wasn't busy.

Surely if he's that close a friend you can just tell him?
My friend was here most of today, which is great, I love the company, but said I wanted a quick bath before DD came home, so she left at 2.30pm, instead of the 2.50pm she would have.
No offence caused at all.
She's the same with me, she got me a chair to sit at her kitchen door last week, as she was happy to have me visit and chat, but needed to clean her kitchen. (I'm unable to help or would have, obv)

I think you need to manage without his help, and get rid.

Otherwise it will all get really uncomfortable and eventually probably, acrimonious.

Say thankyou so much for everything you have done, but I want to try and manage by myself now/have got a new boyfriend who I will be seeing at that time/have suddenly developed an allergy to laptops. Etc.

just end the arrangement, if it pisses you off - he probably has no idea he is annoying you.

I have tried telling him, but he went into one about spending money on the bus. Which is odd since he just spent £15 on a new webcam It's not like we're even doing anything, he's playing bloody EveOnline.

He didn't even ask if it was ok to stay all day, or tea-leaf my internet connection.

I'm dreading getting my driving license, just think what he'll expect then...

He's being a freeloading git then, tell him to do one.
Honestly, the friend I mention and I are honest if we need to get on with other things, and we don't take advantage of each other.

What does he do in return, for you?

Like I said, he helps with shopping, which can be a nightmare with DS. Other than that, not much beside listening to me vent when I've had a bad day. Although less of that lately, he's started telling me that it's not his problem. Which is true, but still...

"Tea leaf" your internet connection? It's not like it costs extra!

You sound quite mean. He comes up to help you and stays for a while and you're here moaning! Just do the shopping on your own fgs!

It's rude if you visit a friend to spend the whole time on the internet though isn't it?

Switch off the internet connection if he's coming round.
