Nightmare with Argos!

I am currently having a nightmare with Argos and wondered if anyone else has had similar problems.

I ordered a new bed for DD three weeks ago. It was supposed to be delivered this afternoon, so i duly took down the old bed this morning and got rid of it ready for the new one. TWO minutes before the delivery was scheduled, the driver phones to say that I am 'inaccessible' and there are 'major access problems' and that unless I can drive to the bottom of the road, right now to collect the bed he is not going to deliver the bed and instead drive off.

I phoned customer services and apparently he is well within his rights to decide that he isn't driving the lorry on his own 'judgement call' even though it is an A road, with normal bin deliveries and a massive quarry at the top of the hill where massive lorries go up and down all the time. I have previously had a washer and drier delivered by argos on a lorry, to this same address.

All they will do is refund my delivery charge, and send out the bed in a transit van NEXT Wednesday. My daughter, who is back at school tomorrow, will now have no bed for over a week and will have to sleep on a blow up bed that I will have to go out and buy right now. I'm in a total bind because if I get a refund, I wont be able to get a new bed delivered in less than that time anyway in fact it would probably take longer.

Is there nothing else I can do?! HELP!

I'm sorry to read this position that Argos have left you on. I didn't want to read and run.

I would suggest you ring up and speak to management snd make a keep on at them. You don't need to be aggressive just assertive. Tell them that its not acceptable to leave you on this situation and at the last minute. Tell them what you want and when you want it doing by or your going to take legal advice. Its amazing how much people/companies will bend over backwards when you mention legal advice.

Most companies start spouting their t's and c's, but they can be changed if your assertive enough. Xx
