Hoping my business partner isn't on MN. Without revealing too many identifying details I came on board with an aquaintences business startup. She had a nice idea and brand and needed a product developer. I developed some products, we sent put samples, did market research and came to the inescapable conclusion that the numbers didn't work. We couldnt produce the product for what people were prepared to pay.
I thought that was the end of the line but my prtner is very invested in it not just financially but has quit her day job and talked it up to a lot of peyople so stands to lose face. She has now come back to me with a new plan for an online.business that can't possibly work.
I have been hoping for ages that it will just go away quietly. I've done a lot of work for no money on the understanding of a share of the profits. What I really want is to retain the intellecual property as i can make the product and sell it small scale myself at craft fairs etc and make a.bit of pin money but right now my contribution is all my partner has got apart from a domain name. I'm not sure she can let go of this dead horse. I would feel bad asking for payment for what ive done but not sure how to extricate myself.
There are verbal agreements in place but she hasn't made the company official yet so really its just all so much pie in the sky.
I have told her I don't think plan b can work. Wwyd?
