My parent have 3 labs and from my experience they don't really fill out until they are about 1 - 2 (human years).

No need to worry really your lab looks fine. Its when they get big then that an issue as they can eat so much, including carpet! (long story)

With Labradors you are supposed to be able to see ribs, but not bony, pointy spines or ribs iykwim, my vet has a very good poster showing the difference
