My dh, ds and dd are all flying out to France tomorrow but as I still have no passport I am staying here ;( there is nothing I can do about this- I am hoping it will arrive or get sorted by next Monday so I can get a flight out then.
So... I have a week home alone.. Being home alone is very rare for me and as I'm trying to be positive, I'm starting to see the potential of the situation. I don't have much money though so no costly suggestions!! I have a dog and sm planning some long walks. I also run so I may fit a few runs in. What suggestions can you make fir me? And Wwyd to make the best of the time?

Is there something on TV you've been dying to watch? Films your DH hates?
SLEEP
Can you meet up with friends at one of your homes?

Have to admit my first reaction was Envy but I wouldn't like to be forced into it through lack of a passport.
How long overall will they be out there - will you get a week with them if it arrives in time?

oldwomanwholivedinashoe · 05/08/2012 08:10

Yes I'll get a week if it arrives. A good box set one day is a good idea- thanks. Ive arrange lunch out one day and an evening with friends another. I must be a really boring person as all I can think of is to clean, garden and catch up on putting labels in kids school clothes!!

Read a book or have a pamper day and stick on a face mask, paint nails etc and go shopping or window shopping Grin

I am really jealous too!
Especially as it is totally guilt free and not your fault may have to accidentally set fire to passport shortly before next family holiday

Anyway, I would:

Go to the cinema LOADS. Like three films in a row. With a hip flask.

Get up every morning, dash downstairs to make tea and toast, then back to bed with a book until at least 11am.

Properly sort the garden out.

Shopping. And nice lunch. With books.

Go out and get properly drunk one night and spend the next day drinking cans of coke and eating crisps.

Well you have all made me feel lots better. Totally gutted at missing chunk of holiday but secretly looking forward to indulging myself!

Cook meals of stuff you really like, but the others turn their noses up. Or if you dont feel like cooking, then treat yourself to some M&S meals or similar that dont need cooking. Watch all the programmes you really like on tv. Have really really long baths/showers with no one knocking on the door. Play the music that only you likes really really loudly with no one to complain. Personally, I dont think a week is long enough! Have fun.

Are you not all EU now? Why do you need a passport?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 11/08/2012 06:18

Err you still need a passport to travel out of the UK

Tee2072 · 11/08/2012 06:51

Total bummer that you can't go but, oh! A whole week on your own!!! Envy
