Ds1 just wee'd on our brand new bed!

Help need some perspective here - before his bath tonight Ds1 (3.5yrs) purposefully went into our room and peed all over our lovely brand new Vi-sprung bed. Despite a mattress protector the mattress got a good soaking and I'm sitting here having cleaned up the mess bf'ing ds2 and having a good old cry! it's been a long old day (for me) and its about as much as I can take right now - oh and it was MY side he peed on too (sigh!)
Ive sent ds1 to bed without a story and have told him that I am not impressed but I'm sat here wondering why he does things like this? He's had a lovely day, had loads of attention - why ffs?

I know it's by no means on the same scale of mindless destruction but that horrible scene from ' we need to talk about Kevin' with the maps keeps coming into my head (shudder!)

Ooh, I'd be furious! That doesn't help, does it? (Long time since I had a 3.5 yr-old...)

Oh, I would be furious. How did you/dh react when you discovered it?

Been a long time since I've had a 3.5 year old, but think I'd be considering some appropriate punishment.

Id have been cross too. Maybe a jealousy thing? sometimes they do do these things for no reason.

Too late to impose a punishment. I'd have been cross and upset. And after I'd calmed down I'd have explained why in very simple terms that that peeing anywhere except the toilet is not allowed.
