Neighbours kids kicking balls in our garden

Just wondering what you would do...

We get on quite well with our neighbours and our gardens have a fence in between. Their twins are 9 and often have friends round and kick balls around on their garden.

When we first moved in the kids would knock on the door to ask if they could get their ball back and I said there was no need to ask (as they were waking DS up when he was sleeping).

But now they routinely kicks balls deliberately into our garden and crawl through the fence and almost play volleyball over the fence!

I know it's not a big deal but it gets irritating after a while. What would you do?

Talk to the parents and ask them to stop the children making a game of it.

Just wait till your kid wants to play with a ball in the garden.

Put up a higher fence?

The fence between is theirs and badly damaged (which is why they come through so much). We offered to fence on our side but they said they're replacing theirs so there was no need. I'd feel bad chasing them on this.

Just really don't want to fall out with them - especially as DS might end up kicking balls into their garden when he's older!

If it's their fence that is lacking, put up chicken wire on your side. That's what we have done to keep our dog in. If they ask, blame it on the foxes Confused.

They may not even notice.

We do have a bench in our garden that we could move over the hole 'to stop DS escaping' - might try that!
