A blog about volunteering would be interesting, especially one where the volunteers work with children and help to set up a local group with the children running around. I bet some funny situations would arise, as well as seeing how they tackle the various challenges around.

Pretty please can somebody please write a blog about an everyday suburban mum who is secretly magic.

Her magic powers should include (but not be limited to):

Instant 'Taadaah' hair washing and styling.
Mary Poppins style tidying with dancing brooms and self-folding clothes.
Having a magic closet full of clothes that cost pennies but look amazing and fit perfectly.
Being able to magic Biscuit out of the air for awkward not-online situations.
Roller skating.

TheMysteryCat · 03/07/2012 22:09

a blog about writing for children
or a blog about the many wonderful foods that go with cheese

CheeryCherry · 03/07/2012 22:34

A blog about several people who have completely changed career/business and gambled their future, to make a roaring success of themselves. Bit of inspiration to 'go for it'. Either that or a blog by my dog!

zipzap · 03/07/2012 23:45

I'd like to read one that was written in character for some of my favourite tv shows. I'd also like to read one that was written by the actors out of character about their experiences filming the shows and what they really thought of the other people they were filming with. (think - NCIS/NCIS LA/CSI type stuff, plus things like Buffy and Dr Who)

I also like ones where people post up examples of bad design/usability/etc of products, services, signs, websites and so on. As a user experience consultant I'm always amazed by how some really bad things are thrown out into the marketplace - and worse that people buy them or have to use them... In an ideal world my job wouldn't exist but these sort of blogs remind me that I should be in employment for a while yet...

zipzap · 03/07/2012 23:47

Oh and a time travel one - or rather one that has people blogging about the minutiae of their day but those days happen to be a long way in the past or future - or maybe just with the next mega million lottery draw numbers on Grin

I know, completely impossible but I can dream!

AmberNectarine · 04/07/2012 07:16

I'd be a 'finder'. People would come to me with an item they'd seen on someone in the street, a celebrity etc. and based on the description, I'd track it down.

Have proved to be quite good at this over on the S&B board lately...

StellaMarie · 04/07/2012 10:20

A blog about different countries and days that they celebrate. Seeing as how today is 4th July and celebrated by Americans around the world, it makes me wonder if everyday is celebrated somewhere by someone?

Solo · 04/07/2012 10:58

A ghost hunter blog.

GetKnitted · 04/07/2012 11:06

Yay zipzap! Can't believe someone else said time travel too :)

borninastorm · 04/07/2012 13:02

doodlealley your wacky wish is my command.

I specialise in the supply of wooden toys for Santa's grottos all over the UK and i just started the blog santagrottotoys.wordpress.com just for your reading pleasure.
As i do employ elves to make and wrap the toys to help Father Christmas you can expect a full expose of life at the front of Santa's Workshop.
The blog will launch in the next few days.

I'd like to read confessional blogs. A place where people could admit to all the really naughty things they had done. They would then be cleansed and we would be entertained.

Trills · 04/07/2012 16:48

I'd like to read a blog about "things that are interesting that I don't know".

Threads on MN along the lines of "what have you recently discovered that everyone else knew?" are always very good.

llynnnn · 04/07/2012 17:14

I would like to read a blog about a busy working mum (like me!) who has ambitions and things she really want to achieve, an then she actually goes out and does them!
I really need a kick to do something with my life and this could inspire me! Blush

I'd like to read about an ordinary busy Mum trying new things - like being vegan for a week, learning to drive, starting up her own cottage industry and all the trials and tribulations encountered

Puffinsaresmall · 04/07/2012 17:54

A blog from a coroner? Would be fab to hear about all the unusual ways of dying there are out there! Blush A bit like 'Curious and Unusual Deaths' on tv, who knew a tomato could kill??!

MaryAnnes · 04/07/2012 22:27

I would love to read a blog about the daily life of the Queen. Queen Elizabeth blogging with Prince Philip uncovered (not literally of course!)

I think it would be just fascinating to see under the hood up close and raw to their real thoughts. Altho good old HRH Phillip doesn't usually let his thoughts go un noticed anyway!

Just thought that would make for a great blog!!!!!

X

angelicstar · 05/07/2012 14:07

I'd actually love to read Gods blog (surely he has a blog - he must have invented them after all)

  • What does he really think of us mere mortals?
  • What washing powder does he recommend for getting those flowing robes pearly white?
  • Competitions giving away miracles, burning bushes and the ever popular tablets of stone (perfect coffee table reading)

I bet his "followers" list beats all other bloggers too - although I might be tempted to leave a comment about whats going on down here...I wonder if he would answer?!

CMOTDibbler · 05/07/2012 18:57

I'd like to read a blog by someone more like me - ft working, trying to cook niceish things with no time to cook or shop (other than online), an outlook calendar full of holiday club dates, dhs away days, my work trips, and the being sandwiched between caring for young children and elderly parents.

Or a style blog thats realistic - someone a bit overweight with a tum who finds sensible priced oufits that work in the real world (no ironing for a start)

SamsGoldilocks · 05/07/2012 20:47

Rather dull but i like a good sense of humour, an interesting perspective on parenting, food, gardening and a bit of quantum physics.

I like to read 'real' stories and I'm particularly inspired by people who do something a little bit different, be it yarn bombing, visiting people overseas, astrological perspectives, old style folk remedies, so long as the latter isn't too herbal and has a bit on a tongue -in-cheek approach.

nothing revolutionary but still a little bit anarchic

fallingandlaughing · 05/07/2012 22:37

I am really nosey so interested in any inner thoughts type blogs.

I don't like lifestyle stuff which seems like advertising/trawling for freebies.

Most of all I would like to read the blog of the owner of our local hardware shop. He is the most cheerful person I've ever met, incredibly positive and friendly. I am sure he is genuine, but DP thinks it is a marketing ploy to get people into the shop. I need to see his inner thoughts in order to win the argument know the truth.

Stitchthis · 05/07/2012 23:20

Can you have a bit of quantum physics?! Discreet packages only. Rather like Anne summers.

stephgr · 06/07/2012 03:48

I'd love to read a nanny's blog about what he/she gets up to with the children in Mum's absence

Bex66 · 06/07/2012 06:20

I'd like to read the blog of the student who sold 1 million pixels on his website for £1 million - its an amazing true story which involved some truly incredible marketing from his point, but I don't think he ever blogged it.

Also, interested to see that Nora Ephron blogged - will look that up.
