Does anyone else have problems with blogger and readers leaving comments? I'm only two weeks in but several friends have told me that they've tried to leave comments but it seems virtually impossible/very complicated!
I wish I'd looked into with are the best blog providers before going ahead -guessing it's too late to change now without losing the readers I have??

Hi, is it people with wordpress blogs that are having trouble leaving comments?
I only ask because as a wordpress blogger myself, I do seem to have problems commenting on some blogger/blogspot blogs, and know that others have experienced difficulties too.
I can comment fine on any other type of blogs, but sometimes it is impossible to comment on the blogs I have mentioned.
Not sure what you need to do to amend this, just wanted to let you know that there does seem to be a problem with wordpress blogs commenting on them.
Hope someone more knowledgeable than me on your blog type comes along soon to help.

Thanks for replying! No, it's friends (non bloggers) who seem unable to leave comments..I need some kind of blog training I think!!

I always have problems with blogspot, esp when using my Wordpress crededntials. Not sure if you can tailor the comments process, some blogspot blogs vary.

Hi,
I'm on blogger and I think it works OK. (?) When as a reader, you click into a post to comment, you should get a drop down menu of what credentials you want to use to comment with. The list on mine includes: Google, Livejournal, Wordpress, TypePad, AIM, OpenID, Name/URL and Anonymous.

You might want to check if your settings allow all those. If you go into Settings then 'Posts and Comments' you should check if you have ticked to allow 'Anyone' to comment.

It also helps to turn off the word verification thingy (in the same place in settings), as this puts people off commenting and sometimes completely fails and stops people commenting.

I hope that helps!

Yes it is a little complicated to leave commnets on blogger. You have to be signed in with your google account if I remember rightly and this requires a password. Can't speak for other blog sites but people do eventually get the hang of it if they persevere. In contrast my problem has been the opposite, people hacking my email account and then other people using my contact list for abusive messages! Seems neither of us are getting a good result on this front but good luck anyway. lifeafterdebts.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/one-angry-man.html#comment-form
