Being lied to by other mother.

One of DS friends mothers arranged a trip and left DS out. The other children asked why DS was not coming and he asked the boy if he could be added to the booking. This trip is through a large travel company and is just for the children no parents are going.
The mother phoned me and said she was ever so sorry but she had contacted the travel firm and the trip was fully booked now.
However another mum phoned me with all the details so I could book DS a place.
When I phoned the company they said there was loads of space left and booked DS in.
I'm rather concerned now as the mother who lied to me is suppose to be one of my friends and we spend a lot of time together as the children are all the same age. After telling me there was no room she was talking about our next get together.
Not sure how to react
Any help would be grateful

How strange. Is your DS v popular or something? I would ask her outright as it is a v underhand thing to do which should be calmly confronted.
