Just wanted an opinion my husband is from stirling scotland and he has just lost his job and has been offered a job up there near his family. I have 2 young children 6 and 4 and a relocation could be a big thing for them especially with the southern english accent has anyone else relocated have you had any problems?

I am from Stirling. It's lovely there- decent sized town but lovely countryside on the doorstep. Glasgow and Edinburgh both less than an hour by train for variety and airports.

It's a long time since I was at primary school there but I believe the state education is excellent- got me into Cambridge! There were kids in my class who relocated from England and I don't recall any bullying -at that age and with their Dad being local they'll be sounding Scottish within months anyway.

I had an idyllic childhood there- horse riding, Guide camps, playing out in safe streets and parks, swimming in the local pool (the new one is even better), shopping in town with my friends on a Saturday as a teenager. Yes there ate some dodgy estates but presumably your husband knows which bits to avoid?
