Posting blog link on threads I'm on..

Hi there, am I allowed to post my link on any forums/threads I'm following?

I'm a complete Mumsnet novice so please don't take my word for it but I have been posting links to my blog on all my comments on other blogs as well as on these talk threads and it has double the number of hits I have had on my own blog. Still not sure if this is how to find followers as this is my first 48hrs as a Mumsnet blogger! Good luck.

As you will see from this double ham fisted attempt, I have made a complete pigs ear of this post first time around because I forgot to tick the "convert links automatically" box which is essentially when posting a link!! Hope you are better at this than I am meandmyfour.

I added some links to very relevant threads and had my posts and my links removed and my wrists, very politely, slapped by Mumsnet towers. They generated loads of hits on my blog though! The forums are not moderated so it only happens if someone reports you. Darn unfair I thought, especially as its not as if I'm trying to sell anything! Just giving useful info about camping!

You actually aren't allowed to add a link to your blog on the rest of MN. If you do, and someone reports it, the link will be deleted, or perhaps your whole post.

Doesn't mean people don't do it. But it is against MN rules.

You're welcome to add links to your blog here on threads in the Bloggers section of Talk, but we do ask you not to add your blog links on threads in any other Mumsnet forum. This is to stop the boards from being clogged up with hundreds of blog promotion posts.
