How do Mumsmet choose their "Featured Bloggers"

I have looked at the Featured Bloogers list on the Mumsnet Blogging home page for the last week or so. It is pretty static and I am confused how these Bloggers got to this Featured status in the first place.

I do not blog, I like to read blogs, so I have no axe to grind here BUT.....

"A Dangerous Notion" - since 5 Feb just 3 blogs (last one 7 March)
"Bidisha" - since 3 April 3 blogs and last one 14 April
"John-Paul Flintoff" - this just seems to be someone promtoing his publications
"Liz Fraser" - since 4 Feb 4 blogs and the last was 11 March
"Reciperifle" - 15 may and beofre that 15 April

There are others which are almost as poor in the amount they blog but the point is who chooses which blogger gets this presumably coveted FEATURED BLOGGER spot?

That's a question some of us bloggers have asked before. And have never been answered.

I am on the network but I don't expect anything from it any more. Even when I was featured on the Bloggers homepage my hits only went up by about 10 extra. And when they Tweet my blog? About the same.

There are too many bloggers, IMHO.

I was wondering about this too. Strange and a bit demoralising.

I have wondered myself, I cant even work out how often they change them. Those do not really show how great some blogs are, which is a shame.

I was featured blogger once. My rein lasted about 3 weeks. I still have no idea what criteria they use for selection but I can assure you it's all about quality Grin obviously
