Workmate Problem

I've got a problem with a workmate who keeps asking to borrow money. I've lent it to her once in the past (only a small-ish amount) and she paid it back on payday, but she's asked again this week, this time for more and although I could have given her it, I said no and she made me feel bad about it buy being very false and saying she and her son will 'be alright I guess'.

I hope she doesn't ask again because I know I will be weak and lend it but I feel bad saying no (I am weak in this way and hate to think of anyone going without).

How do I deal with this?

BTW - I said no as this month has been very bill-heavy and I still have bills to pay, so didn't want to give it in case I really needed it towards the end of the month.

suggest she goes to your boss and asks if they have a hardship fund through work

No is no and you don't need a reason to say no!

I don't lend money to work friends and tbh I also wouldn't ask because it puts people in an awkward situation.

Stay strong!

I would say no.

If she starts trying to make you feel guilty about it then tell her you need your money to pay your own bills.
