Bloomin Pregnant

Now, I don?t know about you ladies, but I have a distinct preconceived idea in my head that pregnancy is fun. Isn?t it? Isn?t it about being looked after and pampered, putting your feet up while your husband massages them; having dinner cooked for you and basically swanning around looking, well, blooming.

Well, quite honestly, you might look totally gorgeous, but with pregnancy comes a number of changes - both physical and mental. Those hormones racing around your body will be making you cry at just about everything. Even if you were a mean, hard-nosed cow at work in the past, if someone so much as says BOO to you now you will just blub like a baby (ironic really). Not only is the crying really embarrassing but you should try the farting. You can try all you like to blame everyone else around you for the really smelly ones but, let?s face it, everyone knows that it?s the preggie ones who are letting off the mingers.

And try the heartburn. Chocolate, curries, pasta, strawberries...no matter what you eat really seems to set off that uncomfortable acidic feeling in your throat and heart. No amount of Mylantas seem to help. Then there?s the leg cramps, lower back pain, queasiness, tiredness...

How on earth COULD YOU HOPE to look bloomin for goodness sake? Was/is your pregnancy what you expected? What do you wish people had 'only told you' about being pregnant?

I had a 2 lovely pregnancies actually - I wasn't sitting on the couch with chocolate(oh what a dream) but I did keep it very healthy and was walking a lot so I didn't have time to feel frumpy and awful. Other pregnancies I was sick and just wanted it over with! It's a definite mix.
