Idiots guide to blogging

I'm thinking about starting a blog but have no idea where to start and I like to know all about a thing before I do it. Where can I go for an idiots guide?

I actually bought a book called Dummies Guide to Mom Blogging, there are also some pretty cheap ebooks on kindle (you don't have to have a kindle to use the kindle software), also tots100.co.uk have a free ebook that you can download.

If you are not very techy go to blogger.com, it's really easy to set up a blog there but if you like to get all geeky and really have total control over everything host your own wordpress blog. Good luck

I made the mistake of not reading up a bit first and started with a blogger blog but decided it was too limiting so now I have a self-hosted wordpress blog.
