An interesting question, I often look at competitions and very rarely bother to enter as I began to take the view I never win therefore don't bother. I recently ran a competition and from the people who run it point of view, it's rather exciting to see people who genuinely do go for it, their frame of mind is "you gotta be in it to win" and frankly I totally agree, since doing this I think I have been converted and shall be entering competitions!
