Dh got me this gift for my birthday (and I love it) the trouble is I have to choose which category of animals to do!

So my options are:
Gorillas - but the waiting list is sooooo very long (next year!)
Elephants
Small primates - gibbons, lemurs etc
Cats (which include wolves, hunting dogs, lions, tigers and smaller cats)
Hooved animals - rhinos, tapirs, deer and many others I can't remember!

What would you do and why?!

Gorillas-no. You won't get near them and will be shovelling poo. Hooved animals-maybe, tapirs are so luvverly. Small primates could be good-would that include bats?

Winkly · 12/04/2012 23:36

Primates. I love primates. So intelligent, they're likely to want to interact with you and there's no realy chance they'll lose their tempers and try to eat you.

MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals · 12/04/2012 23:36

Cats/wolves. No real reason - just what I would like.

Are you doing it at Whipsnade? Don't answer if you don't want to; I just wondered because I know they have (or used to anyway) a wolf pack.

WillowInGloves · 12/04/2012 23:44

Elephants or primates - both lovely and intelligent creatures. Wouldn't think you'd get close to elephants though, so my preference would be primates.
Please can you report back when you've done it - I'd love to know as my dd is waiting to be 16 so she can do it.

Um- was thinking of small mammals when i mentioned bats (am half asleep with a headache and should be in bed. Am not actually total thicko).

Ok. I think I've narrowed it down to elephants or cats!

CATS CATS CATS! Awww they're sooo cute. I have no real reason for you to go for that category other than that.

fivegomadindorset · 13/04/2012 10:07

Elephants.

If you do primates you might get one sitting on your shoulder. I'd have a look at the photo's on their website.

RightUpMyRue · 13/04/2012 11:55

Small primates. Definitely. You won't get to get close to anything else and gibbons are lovely, gentle, inquisitive things.

ifeelloved · 13/04/2012 11:56

Damn you - I'd discounted primates but they look good again now - aaarrrgggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Elephants.
You'd not be able to get close to wild cats. They are such magnificent creatures, but, er, wild! So they wouldn't be able to let you get up close for safety reasons I wouldn't have thought, but elephants, now they are lovely, and you'd be much more likely to be able to feed them and get up close.

fuzzysnout · 13/04/2012 21:00

Hoofed or small primates. Wouldn't have thought you would get near any of the others ...& tapirs are sooooo cute Grin
