Background is:
Both mine and DH's phones are in my name and both with the same network but have different 'upgrade' dates. His upgrade was due in October so we trugged along to Carphone Warehouse and upgraded him to an iPhone for about £25ish a month. The one we got didn't work so we took it back and they exchanged it with no problems.
The direct debit didn't change from the £16ish a month he'd been paying the next month, nor the next so I went into the shop (the phone provider not CW) and they said not to worry as it sometimes takes a few weeks.
Fast forward four months and still the direct debit hasn't updated. So I just checked 'his' online account (it's in my name) and clicked on the upgrade now' button (tried it on mine first and it said 'Sorry you're not eligible for an upgrade until August 2012') and his said 'You're eligible for an upgrade, please click here or visit your local store'.
So I'm now thinking that CW clearly hasn't done what they should do to let the provider know that we've upgraded and so they still think we're on the old contract of £16ish a month.
The worst that can happen is that they take the missing money from October to the date they realise they've made a mistake which is fine because I've been tucking it away anyway. The best that can happen is that they never take it and we carry on with the new phone. Obviously when I upgrade I'll go directly to the provider so that it doesn't happen again (although I've had no problems with CW in the past).
It does feel a bit wrong but I'm not sure it feels wrong enough for me to go into CW or the provider shop to ask them to put it right.
WWYD??
