Pram or sling for travelling into and around London with a little one?

Next week I'm travelling into London on my own to take my 6 week old DC1 in to work to show her off.

The journey is...

  • 15 minute walk from the house to the station
  • our station has loads of steps... and no lift Hmm
  • 30 mins or so on the train into London
  • one Tube journey, about 6 stops on one line between two stations that both have lifts
  • about 5 mins walk to the office
  • I'll be doing it all outside of rush hour

So, the big question is do I do this with the pram or with the sling? Our pram is a bit of a beast (Graco Tour Deluxe, a great pram but not really small or light) so there could be real issues getting around the stations, but it does mean I won't have to have DD on me the whole way through the journey. If I have her in a sling (Baby Bjorn) I will have to have her on my lap and will have to carry the changing bag too, but it will probably be so much easier to get around all the stations and to manage on the trains if they are busy.

Anyone a regular traveller into and around London? WWYD - the sling or the pram?
