What Should I Take To A Blessing?

We've been invited to a friend's 6m old DC's blessing, but I'm not sure what the etiquette is regarding presents/cards. The only cards I've seen in the shops are for christenings/confirmation. I don't want to turn up empty handed. Could anyone help?

1stly, ask the parents their views on what they would or wouldnt mind as cards/ presents. I had a Naming Ceremony for DD2. I was fine with cards that said christening on, a couple of friends did find cards with Naming Ceremony on though. as in my eyes i believe in God, just not going to church and being preached at.
2ndly Try the net, as there are bound to be sites that sell for cards for blessings. Ebay has alot of shops on that do things made to order, so you could get something especially made.
best of luck

I would write a suitable message in a nice (blank inside) card; and would take a small present (as I would for a christening), probably a classic children's book.

Many thanks for your help. I've been pondering over this for ages, should have posted earlier.
