Ive name changed for this just in case.

If you saw a violent crime being committed and knew it was drug related would you give evidence?

Someone I know saw some people break windows and damage a neighbours house. The perpertraters are being held in custody and are to appear in the crown court in a few weeks. The police want to ask my friend some questions, but friend is unsure as they are scared of intimidation and violence towards them.

The perpertraters will have family and friends and it may get worse could it? Friend is no way involved and doesnt even know who they were.

Anyway less talk about it, but WWYD?

Be aware the police can make your friend appear at court re this matter if they believe, after taking a statement, she/he has witness information which could help convict, fraid i can"t/wont give my own opinion it"s a very personal situation to be in , and from experience an unpleasent one.If your friend does give a statement to the police, ends up in court and says she/he cannot remember he/she can be charged with contempt of court , be careful.

They haven't given a statement yet, but did say when they knocked on their door what they saw. They have had a phone call from the police which they have to return, but they are worried of being targeted themselves if they do.

From what I know (I wasn't there so going by what friend has said) the perpetrators were wearing scarfs and hoods up so they couldnt see them anyway.

like i said its a bloody "moral"decision, what to do?if feel should say something i"d keep it VERY vague, like 2 blokes average high/build faces 90%covered ,could not possibly identify them from "Adam". wont be asked to attend court/i,d.parade if u dont reconise them
