Do you get paid any real money from having google adsense ads on your blog?

I have only had adverts on my new blog for a couple of weeks but just wondering whether it's worth it???

I tried it for a little while but made about 2p so I suspect you would have to have a lot of hits for it to be worth it.

Very few bloggers make money from their blog, I am afraid. Some have built up a following and gone on to publish a book, but they are few and far between.

We make about £100/month at the moment, was up near £500/month for a while. That's not off a single blog, it's off a range of short discussion pages (stuff we researched, I don't dump original content only on mn).
Don't think you'd make much money out of a single blog page, but try to get a lot of text ads up to give it a proper go.

I have had Google adsense for a few months and have a total of £1.10. No-one seems to click on the ads even though I have tried to place them in different areas of my blog. The ads are generally relevant to my topic of travelling with a foodie family but sometimes promote messages I don't aspire to such as slimming products and diets.

Then I took them down. Now I have more hits maybe I will put them up and see if I rake in the millions.

I doubt I will though
