Hope this meets with your approval. It was getting a bit full on the other thread so we've extended and now need to decorate the new space.

For the walls.

Sooo glad I've found this thread! Grin

I'm sure this must have been posted at some point, but I'm sure you won't object too much at having to watch it again... Wink

damn reflexes!

GinPalace · 21/02/2012 15:04

If your heart and breathing rate increases does it mean you're incurably infatuated.

Fluffymonster · 21/02/2012 15:12

KingOfCarrotFlowers - no objections at all in fact!

My personal recurring faves (could happily watch these at least once a day):

That low voice. That intense stare (Omg the way he says "Why would I...want to have dinner...if I wasn't hungry?" whilst looking rather ravenous). It elevates my pulse every time. And the hands..!

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 21/02/2012 15:52

Inseparable is heart breaking :(

CaveMum · 21/02/2012 16:26

Right, I've had a crappy few days, so tonight I shall be performing a Sherlock-athon, accompanied with wine and cake.

A personal visit from BC wouldn't go amiss either Wink

CaveMum · 21/02/2012 16:28

Oh yes, and hello to the newbies.

FYI, we are not "Cumberbitches". We is far more classy than that Wink

LetUsPrey · 21/02/2012 18:46

I am stupidly planning my evening. Stupid because best laid plans and all that.

DH is off out to the gym, DS2 will be in bed very soon, DS1 is out until about 8. I should be able to squeeze BC in (f'nar) on HIGABMNFY.

OP posts:
Fluffymonster · 21/02/2012 19:14

SeaShells - yes it's very sad, and BC is so good. So is Natalie Press. I love how there are so few lines, and yet so much is conveyed in only a few minutes. It's not easy to tell a story, with depth, in such a limited amount of time, so I think the director did a good job.

DP is off out later, so more Sherlocking in store for me I suspect. Maybe Atonement, which I have waiting on dvd, but yet to see!

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 21/02/2012 19:23

It wouldn't be as powerful as a full film-it is the score, the lack of dialogue, the incredible acting and that you still have questions at the end unanswered. Plus he is stunningly good (dh was nearly in tears watching it too),

Fluffymonster · 21/02/2012 19:51

I think I agree with you there - as a full length feature I wonder if the premise would suffer, and be more difficult to maintain without it looking 'silly'. But then, I'm not a director! Can't decide whether to lend my support and share it on Facebook or not.

LetUsPrey · 21/02/2012 19:52

Not making plans again. DS2 only just gone to bed.

I shall try Inseparable instead.

LetUsPrey · 21/02/2012 20:13

That was beautiful and very Sad.

I shall now have to watch some of the clips on this thread to cheer myself up.

BC being all Creatured-up

Um. I still would? Grin

Fluffymonster · 21/02/2012 23:45

Bit of a dreamy montage from BC on a bike, in suits, giving longing looks...[sigh]

Right that's me done for the day, 'night all!

DesperateHousewife21 · 22/02/2012 07:24

Been catching up on all the links while dh is in bed.

BC in a jacuzzi? Yes please!

He makes my pulse race watching him ride that bike. I don't usually go for men with bikes (reminds me of my dad perhaps!) but he just looks so effortless and damn sexy!

snailoon · 22/02/2012 08:44

How do you think the actress in Murder is Easy really felt about evading those kisses repeatedly?

Fluffymonster · 22/02/2012 11:09

Morning!

DesperateHousewife - I find men on bikes inordinately attractive. It's the element of danger. Or something to do with the 'knight-on-a-charger' connotation maybe. Or it could be the mere thought of them handling that speed/power with control and precision!

Snailoon - "I hand stitched every sequin myself until 4 o'clock this morning." And cute smile after he says it. Aww indeed!

Watched Atonement finally - beautiful film. I had a bit of an inappropriate-giggle moment, at the very camp (mens) swimsuits by the lake though, heehee.

BC, considering he's not in it that much, pretty much steals every scene he's in, as creepy sexual predator. Can see why people who first noticed him in that, may find it difficult to shake that impression off! I first noticed him as Stephen Hawking, and part of me keeps remembering him in that, because he was so brilliant there, too. He's just a very thoughtful, nuanced skillful and convincing actor.

Here's a snippet from the He talks about how Benedict was quite disturbed by the role.

"It left us all with a very funny feeling in our stomachs. I think Benedict plays the predator brilliantly, and very against his natural character. He's a very very, 'gentlemanly' gentleman."

Fluffymonster · 22/02/2012 11:42

Talking of 'Hawking'!

If you haven't seen it, I urge you to give it a go - it's around on Youtube I think. BC is obviously a shining talent right there - his portrayal of a young Stephen Hawking, is moving, and utterly inspring. Considering he was in his early-mid twenties at the time, the maturity he showed in his performance was miles above anyone else around at the time. I remember being wowed when it came out and thinking "Who is that?" Two clips:

Geek chic! Tbh if someone chatted me up like that I would be impressed. Grin His portrayal of the progression of motor neurone disease is gut-wrenching, but then you also get an insight into the couragessness of Hawking - it's so moving. And on a shallow note I do love the beaming smile at the end of this clip.
LadyClariceCannockMonty · 22/02/2012 11:54

He's truly brilliant in Hawking. A 100% 'realised' performance? his speech, expressions, mannerisms, body language ? whole physicality, and inner life too ? are absolutely watertight and convincing as the character. And so likeable and charming. Nancy Banks-Smith (best telly reviewer EVER) said a lovely thing about his smile being 'big enough to hook over his ears' in this review Nancy rules.

Fluffymonster · 22/02/2012 11:55

inspring = inspiring of course.

Couragessness?? Is that even a word? Sorry my brain has turned to mush!

Seraphine1 · 22/02/2012 12:04

I saw Inseparable last night - lovely bit of work! The crying scene in the car was fantastically done.

I never wanted to watch Atonement. A few years ago when it came out, I heard the basic premise of a romance being destroyed by a child's lie, and that to me just wasn't worth sitting through... I just didn't want to see it. The premise just made me feel bad. Now that I've read more about it, I still don't want to see it, even with BC in it. Perhaps more so because he's in it... his character (partly because he did such a good job) is pretty horrible.

Will they take away my BC Fan Club card if I don't watch it? Confused

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 22/02/2012 12:06

To be honest I don't think Atonement is a very good film, and even though Benedict is fab in it I wouldn't say it's an essential. And I wouldn't think it was something to take away your fan-club card over Grin. I"m not going to bother seeing War Horse or Star Trek for him as I've zero interest in them as films, and I'm buggered if anyone's revoking my membership.

Fluffymonster · 22/02/2012 12:17

It's alright - you just know what you like, Seraphine!

It's taken me this long to watch Atonement, because while I don't dislike the genre, I don't particularly gravitate towards it either. But once I sit down to watch, I can appreciate it. Horses for courses!

Saltire · 22/02/2012 13:05

There's load of his films I need to watch, but shall wait till DH is away for his 6 months holiday Hmm., otherwise he'll want to take them with him again
