High phone bill.

I have a 17 year old foster daughter. Last week her friend contacted me on face book to say that while at his house she had used a phone (not sure if it was landline or mobile) to call her boyfriend and run up a bill of £70. He said his parents are insisting that we pay the bill or they will contact the police. His parents haven't approached me about the matter so until I hear from them I will not be paying, as I would not hand £70 to her 16 yr old friend anyway. Dh thinks its not our responsibility to pay, he says if they were silly enough to let her on the phone for so long its their prob. he is willing to pay half. I think we should just pay it. Fd does get pocket money of £10 a week so my feeling is we pay it and she pays back some of it from her pocket money. WWYD?

Speak to the parents directly.

This could be a teenage scam to get £70 out of you.

Their problem until the parents contact you nd even then as it was their phone it is their bill, maybe next time they will be more sensible.
