Good morning everyone. I've posted this week about my amazing ability to handle this parenting malarkey badly.

Hello everyone, it's been a busy week of both blogging and non-blogging activities for me. Handily my mum-in-law is staying as it's half term, so housework etc. gets done, hooray! So here are my posts for the week....

A 'love'ly little bit of craft - photo frame for my Valentine

Die liebste Überraschung des 'Liebsten Blogs' - Danke schön! - so pleased that lowimpactmama presented me with this award, I was very surprised and very grateful to know that people are reading my little blog :)

From one love to another love - my thoughts on different kinds of love

Watching the BBC documentaries Protecting Our Children was tough going as a parent of children adopted from the care system, but I learnt something valuable.

Thanks for the support yummymummy! I realise I'm taking on a lot of different things all of a sudden, but I suppose I'm just feeling a bit more 'free' now that DD2 is almost 2 - I'm getting a bit of my own life back again Wink

Another post from me this week - career/job/work matters have been buzzing through my head for some time now and I'm gradually realising women who are mothers and want a career are in for a bit of a rough ride. I feel like I'm only scratching the surface with this whole topic, obviously, but these are a few initial thoughts/realisations of this week.

Hello Mumsnet Bloggers,
I've been away but it's great to be back.
I was so moved today by the discussion about grief, that I had to write my new post on grief.
Not the happiest topic, but really worthwhile talking about.
Thank you.
BW,
Lesley x.

I have also blogged about the Workfare thing and about a couple of other unfair and cruel schemes that comes out of the Department for Work and Pensions.

How do you manage Screen Time in your house.

I have finally carved out 2 minutes this week to thank lowimpactmama for the Leibster Award and to pass it on. A very very tricky job as the blogs I have found are great and I can only pick 5!

Check out my decision here.

Liebster Blog Award!

After rather a lot of soul searching and angst, I have decided that for the time being at least, I am now a full time novelist and very part time researcher. :)

saintlyjimjams · 18/02/2012 17:06

Well done MmeGuillotine - great news. I am looking for a few spare hours to really read through your blog (I am developing a bit of an obsession with the dark ages, so I understand where you are coming from, and am also a part time researcher - lol, although not of history). We must be quite close to each other geographically as well (another one in the deepest darkest west country).

MmeGuillotine · 18/02/2012 18:22

Thanks so much! I find the Dark Ages so interesting - mainly thanks to Michael Wood's brilliant documentaries about them. Cor, love him. :)

Ooh, yes - we were in North Somerset for a while but are now back in Bristol again. :)

saintlyjimjams · 18/02/2012 18:51

I'm reading Michael wood at the moment! We're further west - in south Devon ooh aah...

MmeGuillotine · 18/02/2012 19:07

His books are brilliant - I adore him. :)

Arrr. ;)

Lifeofanexpatparent · 18/02/2012 21:06

I'm a bad mother. Who wants to join my club?

I can't be accountable for my actions right now. I am sleep deprived.
