Disagreeing with posts

I'm getting into some quite interesting situations, where I disagree with posts that I am putting up on The Camel's Hump...

I suppose it is all part of the joy of a group blog though - if it fits our editorial guidelines, is well argued, and especially if it provokes debate, then it goes up. Or at least that is what we've been doing...we have four of us now on the editing team, so there is that extra layer of checking there. We do have veto if we really don't like a post as well.

What would you do?

Do you mean that you disagree with the point of view expressed in the post, or that you don't like the way it's written?

With the blog I co-write with my daughter, we have agreed to leave each post in draft until we have both read it, and only then do we hit the publish button. If we disagree with each other's points of view, that's fine but we tend to express that in the comments. I think it would be too bland otherwise, nothing wrong with different points of view and healthy disagreement. Although I do get a bit miffed when she doesn't appreciate my great taste in music.

I guess it depends whether you are writing for yourself or to engage an audience - if it's the latter, then surely the main issue is what your readership thinks of the posts rather than what you personally think of them.

The site is kind of like an online magazine, so I think we just have to go for it and argue in the comments, like you say :-)
