There's a poster I 'see' regularly on the same threads as me, and we seem very similar. I know she lives very near me and she seems quite down, but I also know she's very private.

I'd love to contact her, but think she'd be freaked out.

Send her a PM? Then you can say, "I think I live near you, would you like to meet up for a coffee sometime?" and see if she fancies it. Maybe at a cafe or somewhere rather than either house to start with?

I'm a very private person but I wouldn't be freaked out if you approached it right. I would say "I couldn't help notice we seem to be on a lot of the same threads and live nearby, would you be interested in meeting for a coffee? I completely understand if you'd rather keep RL and MN separate but the offer's there if you like the idea"
