Getting important people to read your blog

I'm writing a humorous food blog called Letters to Nigel Slater. I e-mailed to his agent to check that i wasn't infringing his copyright, and now Nigel Slater has called them to say he's really enjoying reading my blog, as are they at the agency, and they have passed it on to someone at the Observer. Naturally i'm really thrilled.

That's exciting. I once got an email from someone well known commenting on one of my political pieces. I would love for that to lead to a well paid column somewhere but unfortunately it doesn't look like it has...

I have had various authors, politicians and journalists read my blog and comment favourably. I too would like to see paid work coming my way. One day...
