I went to a great launch event on Tuesday (thanks Mumsnet!) for Oxfam's International Women's Day Get Together events.
It got me thinking that, if I tried to get everyone online together in one place it would never work as there are so many different communities now!
So, I spoke to Oxfam on the night and asked if I could start an Online Get Together via Twitter. They thought it was a great idea, as anyone who wants to join in can tweet the #gettogether hashtag, and the link direct to the Oxfam site.
No one has to donate, but on the 3rd of March from 7pm if you'd like to join in (I'm working out the finer details of quizzes/comps and tweets at the moment), or if you have any ideas, then let me know.
I've also asked Britmums, Mums Standing in Each Others Shoes and LoveAllBlogs to support the event, and if anyone is a member of any other forum (eg tech, craft, cooking, beauty etc) then let them know too- I'd love to get #gettogether trending. It's all about raising awareness.
