I just recieved a mail informing me MN aren't sure my blog is a fit for them. I'm a mum of 6, two of my children have disabilities and i blog about my daily life, musings, things i like etc. They said it was to early to tell but i'd be a bit embarrased to try again especially if i got another thanks but no thankBlush

If i'm not right for here i wondered if anyone could point me in the direction of other places they use or i could try ?. I've been on MN since 2009 and tbh haven't looked around at what other 'mum' related sights that are around though i'm aware of netmums. suggestions welcome, losers anon for me maybe ! Smile

Hello Smile

Hmms sounds funny as to why they'd not accept you - have you started a brand new blog? If so then they need at least six entries before they accept. I've seen other brand new bloggers on here ask why they've not been accepted only to then be accepted once they have enough posts. You could also try asking them directly via email.

TBH I have registered my blog with netmums too though I don't use that forum - I've had some traffic from it too but not as much as MN - I figure a network's a network!

I think that MN want to see that you post regularly before they accept you into the network. Is it a new blog?

I am a member of Britmums but tbh keep forgetting to use it.

Most of my hits come from Twitter.

Violet5 · 20/01/2012 14:12

Yes it is new, they said they'd want to see more posts from me first but had accepeted my other blog when that was new straight away, thats why i just wondered if they were just saying a polite no thanks.
This blog was taking over from one i'd recently closed, as i'd wanted a new blog domain name.

Thank you both for replying, i'll have a look at Netmums and Britmums too. I think (i could be mixing you up with someone else, appologies if i am) that you, MmL did a Twitter guide post recently ? Shall have to go look at that again and get to grips with Twitter i think.

Thank you Smile

Yes, I did a Twitter guide recently.

Did you tell MNHQ that you were just changing domain names? I would email them again and ask about that.

Violet5 · 20/01/2012 14:26

Ah i thought you did, i'll be re reading your Twitter post and getting myself a Twitter account. I check your blog daily Smile

I hadn't submitted my old blog to MN but it did ok, this new one though i just wanted to see if i could do a bit better with, obviously not so far ! To be fair my old blog only averaged between 15-25 hits per day as i'd not given the add to more than a handful of people. I've enjoyed blogging so thought i'd make more of an effort with this one.

You could email MN and ask if they would take your old blog into consideration when making the decision. Or just wait a couple of weeks and re-submit.

Give me a shout on Twitter.

Violet5 · 20/01/2012 14:38

I have Twitter account added to my 'to do list' and will look you up on Twitter when i do (that's probably the wrong term ! i have a lot to learn Smile )

Thank you for your advice too, i'm deliberating over mailing or waiting. I might wait, build the blog up a bit more (more posts and followers) and try again, that's if i'm successful in building it up. It maybe my blogging is just not to popular taste i guess. I'll see how i go.

Are there reviews on your blog Violet? I've heard of more than one person being turned down cos of too many reviews.

As far as other networks go, I'll sign up to anywhere that'll have me, I think most bloggers do that. Used to get a reasonable amount of hits from NM but not too much now. Britmums - virtually none so don't bother putting new posts on there now. There is also a new network called Love All Blogs which I haven't joined but I believe is specifically for new bloggers. And there's a Parent Bloggers group on Facebook, people are v nice in there.

Violet5 · 20/01/2012 15:15

No reviews on my blog with it being fairly new. I think it was because it's still new and also i guess they might feel my blog's to general to fit, i don't know. My blog that was accepted was specific to special needs but is very niche in it's appeal.

I'll take a look at Love All Blogs, thank you Smile

Hi Violet5,

It wasn't a tacit rejection on our part! We just need new blogs to have at least six posts before we welcome them into the network. We want to make sure the bloggers we activate are going to stick with us.

Drop us a line at [email protected] once you have six posts and we'll welcome you in.

Violet5 · 25/01/2012 10:59

Thank you. I'll try again then soon Smile
