I think it's just automatic as long as your blog is registered with MN isn't it? My blog post is there now and I haven't done anything special to my profile etc.

I think that when you register your url they take a feed like RSS from your site then just add all the feeds onto their front page.

Just don't make my mistake - they appear in order of publishing time/date - and it wasn't until I couldn't ever find mine that I discovered that the time on my blog was set to 8 hours earlier than UK time, so whenever I published I'd end up about 15 pages back!!
