Burnt fingers

Was at a friend's house yesterday who had a fire with a glass front. DD went near it once and I moved her away, she went back a little while later and put her hand toward it. I grabbed her hand back and she cried. I thought this was because I was stopping her doing what she wanted to do (which she often does at 14 mths).

Today I noticed she has 3 blisters on the tips of her fingers. I feel so shit. She must have burnt herself and I didn't realise.

I know I was crap, so don't tell me this but now I'm wondering what to do. Should I take her to the drs? Put something on them?

The blisters are already doing the job of covering up the damaged skin - you could put something soft and dry over them if you really feel like it, but tbh it won't make any real difference. You shouldn't usually put any creams or anything like that on burns, and plasters are more likely to make the surface end up damp than anything else.

The doctor won't have any further advice. If the burns were worse, then that's different - but you'd have known from her reaction at the time if it had been more than a minor burn!
