I've asked this in Arts and Crafts too but would value your opinions too...I've got a relatively crafty blog with a small but lovely set of followers. I'm thinking about setting up an etsy shop selling stuff like this cushion that I made from one of DS1s drawings. What do you reckon? Purchaser sends in picture, I do the rest. Be honest, is this an attractive idea?

singlemarriedmum · 12/03/2012 23:44

I LOVE your cushion - and think it's a great idea! Many of the drawings I keep seem to end up at the bottom of a drawer, so being able to have them on show, on something I could use, appeals to me. A lovely way to preserve a memory - only problem would be picking a favourite pic!

trulymyrtle · 13/03/2012 07:22

stitchthis I think it is gorgeous and would have very broad appeal!!! Go for it!

Stitchthis · 13/03/2012 10:49

I'm getting some good responses to the idea both here (thanks v much) and on A&C. I'm going to plan my time and probably have a go. Eek! I will give myself a few weeks to complete my decluttering plans and then....

DillyTante · 17/03/2012 12:43

Stitch this, that's a great idea. Thinking of starting up an etsy shop too -eek!

Redtedart · 05/05/2012 08:21

Hello I am www.redtedart.com lots of kids crafts, but also some "how to"s for adults and teens! A definite bias towards kids though!

ImaginateMum · 05/05/2012 17:11

Stichthis, I think that is an awesome business idea. I have also heard of a company that made kids drawings into toys, but I don't think that used the actual picture.

VivaLeBeaver · 05/05/2012 17:19

Can I please link to dd's blog. She's only 11 but loves card making and has recently set up a blog. She does all the cards herself and spends all her money on stamps and stuff. She'd love any comments!

tishtashcards.blogspot.co.uk/

ImaginateMum · 05/05/2012 17:38

what a clever daughter!

VivaLeBeaver · 05/05/2012 19:02

I think she's clever but she is my PFB!

We went to a DoCrafts demo today and she was up at the front helping the lady make a card.

ImaginateMum · 05/05/2012 19:18

Well, my PFB is many things, and much loved by me, but not a clever card maker...

(My PFB is bossy and insisted on taking over the blog today with his "rules for parents"! imaginatemum.wordpress.com/2012/05/05/perfect-parent-manifest/)

Actually, we did do something crafty today, but I had to help him a lot. (Make a 3d chair with wings and rocket boosters at the V&A) The vision was there but no skills in either of us. Maybe your PFB could come help us next time!?
