ScatCat. Liked the restaurant post. It's a strange thing that if you don't have children you somehow feel you are entitled to never have to look at one, particularly in posh restaurants which are somehow assumed to be the realm of the child free.
But it's precisely this environment, of sitting and having a nice meal (proper food) that young children should be exposed to in order for them to experience this kind of environment and know how to act and to appreciate it. We took our two to restaurants from birth, some very family orientated, others not so, and as a result they know how to behave (though taking a colouring book is essential for restaurants with slightly longer waiting times!)
Discrimination is discrimination... However it's camouflaged.
