Petite I'm really interested in psychology too. I've been out of it for years but realised recently it's where my heart lies. Thinking in the distant future of doing an MSc in Occ Psych. Am also thinking about how I can combine crafting and psychology...something to explore in the new year.

Just in case anyone missed it - it's not a new blog but it's most definitely a festive one, so worth another mention - Ebenezer Gove and a Crapteacher's Christmas Carol!

Either go through the eductation section on Mumsnet Blogs, or here:

Merry Christmas one and all!

Occ Psych is a really interesting branch Dilly. I haven't got a psy degree but have done several psy modules at the OU for my own personal interest. Tis useful in coaching too.

DillyTinsel · 21/12/2011 10:47

I already have a masters in Psych (Cog Neuroscience) but not particularly useful, was just easier to stay on at uni till I decided what I wanted to do! Thing it was probably just the wrong specialism for me (though not much choice at my Uni) am getting v interested in more personality and social psychology. Something for the future though. Could never manage an MSc, even part time, with a job and two young kids. Maybe when DD2 goes to school, and I could keep working part time.

Good luck with that - I'm going back to work soon after ML but am already planning courses to do when or if I have another one. This year I have done creative writing courses. I figure though when I go back I won't have the time to keep studying... or even blogging possibly.

PetiteRaleuse · 21/12/2011 12:40

I have blogged about Dave's morale booting trip to see the army in Afghanistan

MmeGuillotine · 21/12/2011 12:58

I cooked a vegan Christmas dinner for the in laws yesterday, which seemed to go very well! :)

Typecast · 21/12/2011 13:20

My posts this week aren't very Christmassy. Today I've written about Google+ and how I'm using it.

Project one hundred and seven

Slowly but surely getting there...

rubytwoshoes · 21/12/2011 14:20

Nice short and sweet post from mummyandboo.com/ on why I haven't blogged and linking in other work I've done. Would be great to get your feedback and shares!

Have a fab Christmas everyone!

A review of of Harry Potter: Page to Screen and Lego Hagrid's Hut. Not that I'm an obsessed fan or anything. Ahem. madameguillotine.org.uk/2011/12/21/harry-potter-from-page-to-screen-and-hagrids-hut Harry Potter: Page to Screen and Lego Hagrid's Hut. Not that I'm an obsessed fan or anything...

MmeG that looks absolutely amazing. Can't wait to get my hands on a copy.

MmeGuillotine · 21/12/2011 16:29

It's a seriously amazing book! Some of the art work inside is so beautiful - even my Harry Potter hating husband was impressed!

PetiteRaleuse · 21/12/2011 16:38

Woo just found a copy in France. Can't afford it til my pay comes in and as they only have one in stock I am just going to keep my fingers crossed that it is still there next week. Otherwise will order from Amazon but postage from the US is ridiculously expensive.

donttrythisathome · 21/12/2011 17:29

how to play simple ukelele Christmas carols

MmeGuillotine · 21/12/2011 17:33

It was much much cheaper a couple of weeks ago but seems to have inflated in price this week! They had loads in Costco last week, if you have one in the vicinity? I'd buy one for you but the thought of how much the postage would be is making my eyes water! :(

PetiteRaleuse · 21/12/2011 17:38

I don't think we have Costco over here - and there isn't much demand for books in English in the area anyway. I'll find one - in January they will probably bring the price down again anyway.

I can't believe I had never heard of it before. I have not been spending enough time on HP fan sites :)

MmeGuillotine · 21/12/2011 17:39

There's a smaller version about the place too but I'd go for the BIG book as it's wonderful. :)

PetiteRaleuse · 21/12/2011 18:17

The big one is the one with 530 pages right?

MmeGuillotine · 21/12/2011 18:40

The bigger one has 528 pages, yes.

The smaller one is:

www.amazon.co.uk/Harry-Potter-Film-Wizardry-Warner/dp/0593066480/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1324492758&sr=8-2

PetiteRaleuse · 21/12/2011 18:42

Thanks. I'm going to get the big one. Because I'm greedy worth it. Or something.

MmeGuillotine · 21/12/2011 18:54

I'd definitely get the bigger one if you can. :)
