My brother has a couple of spare tickets to see a football match at the weekend, and has asked to take my ds and my dh if he wants to go.

Ds is not into football but is delighted to go anyway. DH is not into football either and not all that keen, but I think he should go with them as it would be something ds would always remember .. going to his first football match with both his uncle and dad.

Brother is more than happy to take ds on his own. But should I try to persuade dh to go too .. he is swithering, or just let ds go with his uncle for bonding time ? I don't want dh to look back in a couple of years and say I wish I'd taken him to his first football match (any others after that are fine without dh).
Am I just being a sentimental sap (I know I personally hate missing 'firsts'). Would you encourage your dh to go ?

Er, why is it important he remembers his dad took him? Bit sexist and outdated isn't it?

Why don't YOU take him? I often take mine...
