How do I put images on my Wordpress posts?

I'm not yet on the MN blogging network but hope I'm ok to post here - I figured you'd all know what I'm doing wrong and would be able to help.

I started a blog recently and on the WP tutorial, it said to tick the Zemanta box to use free pics from there, which I did. I added pics to my first few posts using that. However, after a break of a few weeks, I've just gone on to write a new post and it's not given me the option of adding a pic via Zemanta, and when I go to Users - Personal Settings, there's no option to tick to add Zemanta pics. I really hope this makes sense Confused.

So, how do I add free pics to WP, please?

It was perhaps a temporary thing, but I've never heard of it.

You can add all the pictures you want through your media uploader.

I'm not familiar with Zemanta, but it appears to be a plugin for wordpress that lets you pull in free online images to your posts.

Are you using wordpress.com to host your blog? You might do better to ask in their support forums if it's a plugin they include as standard.

Thanks, will look at their forums, never thought of that Blush. If I want to upload via the media uploader, where would I get royalty free images from?

Just google royalty free images. There are tons of sites that do them.

Or take some pictures yourself!

Thank you so much - I'm still learning!

I just did a double-take going to update by Wordpress website because the Zemanta facility - which I love - had suddenly disappeared. After a bit of rummaging around, I discovered a message saying they've temporarily taken the Zemanta link down while they resolve "integration" issues (whatever they are!) so it sounds like they've had some technical problems that they're working on - and as if normal service will be resumed shortly! So don't despair (yet!)

Thanks YoungDebbie I didn't see that message. Hope they sort it out soon.
