She's 91/2, he's 39 (yes I know every bloody detail) ! I worry it's not normal, but only because I am very aware she has missed out on having a dad, so then i think, well it's understandable. She wants a role model, a fantasy iyswim!!

I have had plenty of crushes, and still do. BUT this is driving me mad, every other word and thought is this crush. !!!!

If i say yes isn't he great, i get more of it, if i say well not everyone is perfect, thus trying reduce the god like status of popstar, i am in danger of upsetting!!

As long as she's not planning on running away and stalking him I'd just leave her to it tbh. Crushes on unreachable people are on the whole a fairly safe way of exploring all the weird emotions and feelings that start during puberty (and I speak as someone who had terribly obsessional crushes as a child/teenager, and adult)

it's not affecting her normal life, apart from the fact she doesn't talk about anything else!!!
to everyone, all the time. i am not really bothered about the age, she see's someone she admires, and i know it's normal to have these feelings.

She is developing/maturing hormonally, and has been since she just turned 8, and it's all come earlier than i had expected.

Kissing the pictures, carrying them round, dressing like him!! Talking to me in a Manchester accent, in fact being Mark Owen!!! It's been 4 months non bloody stop.

skinnygirl, that's the bit of it that alarms me, her own dad hasn't bothered with her and has let her down for 6 yrs, so she is prob transefered stuff on to this devotion.

i guess it's also about self worth. very hard to distinguish what is a normal crush and what bit is becuase of her dad abandoning her, i just want to get right, have to be so careful not to say 'actually dd Mark owen is lying cheating bastard!!'
